So many of us are forgetting our worth right now. We’re forgetting how far we’ve come on this journey. Somewhere along the way we decided the magic has to stop, and now it’s time to get realistic and settle for a life, a love and a career we never wanted, because maybe our best days are behind us.
If I’m speaking to you right now, let me speak some life into you, queen. You are a goddess. You are a sacred site, and you deserve to be treated as one.
This post comes from episode 675 of the Highest Self Podcast, a spiritual pep talk for every woman on the divine feminine path who needs a reminder of how to remember your worth.
People Can Only See You to the Level They See Themselves
If someone in your life is making you question how impactful, radiant and expansive you are, enough said. You can skip the explaining. You can skip the extra work of proving it to them.
People can only see you to the level they see themselves. We all carry different frequencies, and you might simply be a different frequency from that person. Think of music. There are so many genres, and someone loving one genre takes nothing away from the others. Every genre has its fans. Be around people who love your genre of music.
So many of us women try to double down and prove ourselves. There’s nothing to be done. Bless those people on their paths and move along, because there’s a whole community of queens, kings, goddesses and magical beings here to see you, uplift you and celebrate you.
Why You Felt Everything So Deeply as a Kid
I’m sure you’ve known your whole life that you’re a very special person. There’s always been something different about you. You’re extremely intuitive and empathic. You can see and feel into the unseen. You connect with plants, animals, music and magic in a deeper way.
Maybe you were the outcast as a kid, the little witch nobody understood. Maybe you were the sensitive child who cried more easily. You cried more because you felt more. That means you feel deeper levels of love and joy, and it also means you feel deeper heartbreak. When you feel, you feel it all. You can’t turn on some feelings and switch off the rest.
Most people stay numb because they’re afraid of feeling the painful things. You’ve gone there. You’ve gone into your dark nights of the soul, and because of that you can feel octaves of love, compassion, sensuality and creativity most people can’t imagine. Of course they can’t understand you yet. They haven’t met those depths in themselves, and guiding them there is their journey, love.
What Applies to the Collective Can Skip You
This is the moment to see yourself clearly and say, “That might be happening in the collective, and it’s a different story for me.” Dating might be hard for the majority of people. There might be sister wounds everywhere. You get to decline that story.
You’re an anomaly. You’ve always stood out and broken the rules. Because you’re so empathic, it’s easy to absorb the state of the world and get caught in the shadows. I need you to zoom out and say, “That’s where they are in their journey. I have a different storyline.”
Here’s mine. Life gets more magical every day. I have the most amazing friends who see me on a soul level. We send each other flowers and food, go on trips together and understand each other’s deepest dreams and fears. When I describe my friendships, people sometimes tell me they sound like a fantasy. I created them, and you can create yours too: your dream community, your soul friends, a partnership where you’re seen, celebrated and co-creating heaven on earth.
Live that as your norm before you have evidence. If you wait for the evidence first, you’ll keep waiting.
Raw Material Instead of a Finished Temple
When you’re in a dark night of the soul, you’re actually in a rebirth period. It’s as if someone handed you a pile of stones and you said, “What am I supposed to do with these?” Little did you know, everything you needed for the most gorgeous goddess temple was right there.
The goddess hands you raw material because she wants you to become the builder. You’ll appreciate the temple you build yourself, and you can only truly live inside the temple you built. If I built it for you, it would be my temple. Along the way you’ll take some bricks out, put new ones in, change the colors and move the furniture. You keep redefining it.
“I don’t know how to paint.” Great, you get to become an artist. “I don’t know how to build.” Great, you get to become the architect. You are the artist and architect of your life, and that’s a gift.
So when life hands you the breakup, the heartbreak, the firing or the friendship ending, try saying, “Thank you, fertile soil. What seeds am I going to plant?”
Think Bigger for Your Life
So many of us are thinking small. Maybe everyone in your hometown lives in the suburbs with two kids and married their high school sweetheart. You outgrew that template. Watch that you avoid swapping it for the next template on the block: “Everyone struggles with money.” “Everyone settles in their relationship.” Let that go. How big can you get?
You can create a chapter where you live nomadically and travel the world living in sacred sites. I did that for two years, so I’m telling you it’s possible. You can create a chapter where your home is your temple and everything around you reflects who you are today.
The Décor Question
Many of us are living the lives we created in the past. Look around your home and ask, “Would I choose this décor today?” Maybe the answer is as simple as a new pillowcase, new art on the walls or fresh statues on your altar. Maybe it’s a giant purge of your closet, your habits, your beliefs and your Instagram algorithm.
Then take it up a notch and ask the same question of your relationship dynamics. You can name a dynamic that feels off without rejecting the whole person. Be vulnerable enough to say, “This is the kind of life and connection I want.” Even if it ends up being with someone else, that’s okay.
Your Standard Is What You’ll Be Matched In
When you set the standard, you will always be matched in it. Always. This is how standards work in love, friendship and every corner of life. You’re the creator of this experience, and everything you’ve been handed is raw material to transform.
You are a sacred site. You are a temple embodied. Being around you is a spiritual frequency, and people feel elevated just by being in your aura. Are you giving that same love and attention to yourself? Instead of scrolling and longing, are you honoring how amazing it is to be you?
A Gratitude Practice to Remember Your Worth
Say this out loud right now: “I am so grateful to be [your name] in this lifetime.” Say it three times. Then think about all the ways you’ve been supremely blessed to be you. If you’re reading this, you’re living far beyond an average human experience.
Your Childhood Was the Microcosm You Came to Shift
What a gift to have chosen your childhood and your parents. You got a front row seat to the family dynamics, maybe narcissism or alcoholism or anger, so you could say, “I know this so deeply, and I’m going to shift it for humanity.” You chose the microcosm of the macrocosm you’re here to transform.
You would never have gone in this direction on your soul journey without those obstacles. The obstacles are the path. The goddess goes on an initiation journey to become who she is.
Every date that went wrong, every friendship where you weren’t fully met and every job you didn’t love has been preparing you. Old souls often batch a lot of karma at the beginning of their lifetimes, so they can transmute it early and spend the rest of their lives playing and celebrating. Most people only begin this journey at their midlife crisis. You’re already here. I go deeper into this in my guide to dharma and karma.
Finding My Own Book in a Museum
Something surreal happened to me recently. A friend invited me to a museum of emotions set inside an old abandoned hospital, where artists created rooms for hope, joy, jealousy, anger and fear. On one of the last floors, we walked into the room for hope. There was a hospital bed, the walls covered in thousands of torn-out book pages, and beside the bed sat the books that had given the artist hope, most likely through an illness.
I looked at the bedside books, and I saw my own. Discover Your Dharma.
I was so anxious to release that book. I worried people would judge me for my story and wondered what my family would think about me sharing how hard it was with my dad growing up. It felt like printing the pages of my diary for strangers. I published it anyway because I knew it was what I wanted to leave on this earth. Somewhere along the way it landed on someone’s hospital bedside table and became part of an art installation about hope.
How to Transmute Pain Into Purpose
I was a girl just like you, doing my best, handed a lot of big initiations. Because I chose to transmute them into something for the collective, I got to see that offering return to me as art.
This is what we’re here to do. We transmute our pain into art, beauty and love. Instead of staying in the muck or endlessly analyzing it, we treat it as fertile soil for the rose we’re here to be. No mud, no lotus.
That art installation gave me so much hope for my upcoming book, Maybe This Love Story Is Really About Me, out December 4th. I’m even more nervous about this one. I share what happened in my divorce, how I found out, the most vulnerable parts of my journey and forgiveness. If it can transmute one person’s experience, it’s worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I remember my worth when I feel stuck?
Zoom out from the collective story and choose your own storyline. Surround yourself with people who love your genre, practice daily gratitude for being you, and remember that your standard is what you’ll be matched in.
What does it mean to be a goddess spiritually?
Being a goddess means recognizing yourself as a sacred site and a temple embodied. On the divine feminine path, the goddess is someone who has walked through her initiations and remembers her power.
How can I turn pain into purpose?
Treat what you’ve lived through as raw material and fertile soil. Ask what you want to plant, then transmute the experience into something you share, whether that’s art, teaching, writing or simply love for the next woman walking the same path.
